Please protect your eyes during this Independence Day, and if you are experiencing symptoms such as dry, red itchy eyes, please go to your nearest Urgent Care as we will be closed on that day.  

For patients affected by the volcanic eruptions, resources are available to you if you need eye care or have lost or damaged glasses.  If you are a VSP member, you can all 800.877.7195 to have your benefits reinstated if you are not currently eligible.  Non-VSP members can contact the Red Cross at 800.733.2767 or a local Red Cross chapter to request a VSP Global Eyes of Hope Gift Certificate.  Visit vspglobal.com/disasteroutreach for more information.

Cataract Awareness Month promotes awareness about cataract information, treatment, and surgery. Cataracts are the leading cause in vision loss in the both the United States and in the entire world. Data has also shown that 24 million adults worldwide, over the age of 40, are affecting by cataracts. Therefore, Prevent Blindness America has declared June to be Cataract Awareness Month.




 

At Big Island Vision Center, our office is equipped with the most advanced retinal technologies1,2 to detect and manage your eye care needs.
